With a 2026 theme of ‘implementation’, the focus at Climate Week NYC this year is all about removing barriers to deliver change at speed and scale. It’s a theme that has never felt more relevant to Efeca’s ongoing work with the forest-risk commodity sector, where we focus on the practical challenges and opportunities of turning commitments around deforestation-free supply chains into reality

What is Climate Week NYC?

Climate Week NYC is the leading event worldwide for bringing together key actors at the forefront of climate action, creating dynamic spaces for cross-sector engagement, discussions on progress, and the collaborative development and delivery of long-lasting solutions to the most pressing environmental issues we face today.

Establishing spaces where key climate conversations can spark or where growing momentum for progress and solutions can be built upon is one of the most powerful mechanisms for translating ideas into practical action with real-world impact. With the shift this year from ambition to implementation, Climate Week NYC is set to do just that. The Hub Live features a wide range of flagship sessions, breakouts and roundtables, accessible whether or not you can make it to New York in person.

What’s on that matters to you?

There’ll be talks on leadership and green growth, which aim to recognise the need for bold leadership, smart strategy and collaborative action at the heart of climate decision-making and measures. Discussions around food will also bring together actors across complex globalised food systems, offering a deep dive into the biggest challenges around scaling solutions to strengthen supply chains at an international level.

Key conversations, panels and forums include:

Where capital goes next: the choices shaping the transition economy.

Join Paschal Donohoe, Chief Knowledge Officer at World Bank talks as he talks about what gets funded, by whom, and which projects take priority? How do we keep capital flowing to the front line of the transition while navigating competing demands on balance sheets and shifting expectations for private investment?

Climate as growth: How to communicate opportunity, not cost.

Companies that act are not just mitigating risk, they are unlocking new markets, efficiencies, and long-term profitability. But how can we communicate these opportunities effectively? Hear from leaders in Communications at Dialogue Earth, CDP, UN Global Compact and more.

The (net) zero balancing act: delivering growth and the transition under pressure.

The transition is defined by business choices: where are they doubling down, where are they holding back and how are they balancing growth, cost and transformation in real-time? Key speakers are from EIB, AstraZeneca and Sweden’s Ministry of Climate and Enterprise.

If you’re in New York, there’s still time to sign up to attend Climate Week here. Alternatively, with all conversations available on demand for public viewing, you can catch up on the most relevant conversations to you and your business at any time right here.

Why Climate Week’s focus on implementation is so relevant now

Integrating sustainability into long-term business strategy and ensuring cross-sector collaboration translates to practical action are fundamental pillars of Efeca’s work. Among UK Sustainable Commodities Initiative (UKSCI) working groups, conversations increasingly and consistently centre around not only recognising the most pressing sustainability challenges affecting businesses in the sector but also knowing how best to prioritise these within day-to-day practices. Equally, ongoing industry initiatives like the UK Soy Manifesto offer opportunities for a collaborative, mass market movement towards deforestation and conversion-free commodity supply chains at a time where collective progress at pace and scale is crucial. And as those who are part of our projects navigate the challenge of effectively communicating their action and its impact in an honest, inclusive and engaging way, Climate Week NYC talks could also provide businesses with valuable support in framing and communicating the case for action, both within their sector and beyond.

With a notable shift from sharing ideas and ambition to working together to drive action with impact on a global scale, the Climate Week NYC’s agenda feels closely aligned and highly relevant to the growing push for implementation we are now seeing across the entire agricultural commodity industry.
