National Initiatives and Platforms
Efeca draws on years of experience of advising UK and EU governments and large multinational companies, and facilitating international platforms such as the UK Sustainable Soya and Palm Oil Initiatives as well as the Global Resource Initiative (GRI).
We launched the UK Soy Manifesto in November 2021, a collective industry commitment to work together to ensure all physical shipments of soy to the UK are deforestation and conversion free (cut-off date of January 2020 at the latest), fully implemented immediately where possible and no later than 2025. The Efeca Sustainable Commodities Resource Hub is a central hub of information, tools and resources to help businesses source sustainable and legal commodities – especially those that can be linked to deforestation and conversion of natural habitats, such as palm oil and soya – and make sustainable sourcing decisions. It divides resources into 5 distinct steps on the sustainable sourcing journey and is there to help translate goals into action, and make a meaningful contribution to mitigating climate change and destruction of ecosystems.
