The UK Soy Manifesto launched in 2021 with an ambitious goal to ensure all physical shipments of soy to the UK are verified deforestation and conversion-free (vDCF) by the end of 2025. Despite this strong ambition and the progress made, the efforts of the UK market have not been sufficient on their own to enable the UK Soy Manifesto to achieve our Goal by the end of 2025. Ongoing uncertainty and delays in implementing deforestation-free regulations—both the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and the UK Forest Risk Commodities (FRC) regulation—alongside broader geopolitical and trade instability, have slowed the market transition to deforestation-free supply chains. This has undermined the UK Soy Manifesto’s progress toward its broader goal: eliminating all land conversion linked to soy consumed in the UK.
