DEFRA Extends Efeca-LTS CPET Contract

DEFRA Extends Efeca-LTS CPET Contract to March 2016 for Continued Sustainability Initiatives

We are thrilled to announce that DEFRA has extended the CPET contract for Efeca-LTS until March 2016. This extension enables us, as service providers, to continue our efforts in delivering essential sustainability initiatives. These initiatives include producing topical newsletters, hosting workshops, and maintaining a dedicated helpline focused on key areas such as Timber Procurement Policy, sustainable palm oil, and woodfuel.

Our commitment under this contract extension allows us to further engage with stakeholders, providing up-to-date information and guidance on sustainable practices in timber procurement, palm oil sourcing, and woodfuel utilisation. Through our newsletters, we aim to keep industry professionals and stakeholders informed about regulatory updates, best practices, and emerging trends in sustainable sourcing and procurement strategies.

The workshops facilitated by Efeca-LTS serve as platforms for knowledge exchange and capacity building within the industry. These sessions are designed to educate participants on compliance with regulatory requirements, sustainable sourcing principles, and effective implementation strategies. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, we strive to enhance awareness and adoption of sustainable practices across the supply chain.

In addition to our ongoing services, we are pleased to announce the publication of the much-anticipated results from the Forest Certification Scheme review on DEFRA’s official website, www.gov.uk. This comprehensive review evaluates the effectiveness and impact of existing forest certification schemes, shedding light on their contributions to sustainable forestry practices and environmental stewardship. You can access the full report here, gaining valuable insights into the strengths and areas for improvement within current certification frameworks.

Efeca-LTS remains dedicated to driving sustainability initiatives forward, leveraging our expertise and collaborative approach to support DEFRA’s objectives in promoting sustainable procurement practices across industries. We look forward to continuing our partnership with stakeholders and industry leaders to achieve shared sustainability goals and contribute to a greener future.
