Monitoring, Reporting and Verification
Efeca offer in-depth monitoring and evaluation services, utilising our wide-ranging experience in a variety of commodities including timber, pulp and paper, palm oil, coffee, sugar, tea, cocoa and carbon. We offer market analysis, monitoring, reporting, data verification and socio-economic impact assessments to provide evaluation and recommendations to increase the effectiveness of future activities.
Examples of our work at policy and programme level include assessing the impact and monitoring progress of policies such as FLEGT Action Plan on EU and international markets and working with The International Financial Corporation’s (IFC) Program for Eastern Indonesia Small and Medium Enterprise Assistance (PENSA) II evaluation of forest sector investments.
At company level, we have worked with Kingfisher to verify their annual progress towards timber purchasing commitments for six consecutive years and have assessed evidence for compliance with standards, policies and regulations for many multinational organisations including Unilever and Samsung.
We have monitored and evaluated many global standards and policies, including an assessment of international palm oil standards, and an assessment of timber standards FSC and PEFC for compliance with timber procurement policies of governments and private companies.
Efeca also wrote and published the UK Annual Consumption Report on Palm Oil for the UK Government each year from 2012, reporting on progress towards 2015 target of 100% sustainable palm oil and mapping sustainable palm oil usage against UK government target of 100% by end of 2015.
